Thread: Are we knuckle-dragging, bottom dwelling predators?

Re: Are we knuckle-dragging, bottom dwelling predators?

"Daphne is originally from Sydney's eastern suburbs and working in the mining industry brought her to Queensland. In 2007 Daphne has been writing business and lifestyle news for several Brisbane news outlets, and rouses her green passion as media officer for a leading non-terrestrial lobby group. "

Gee, maybe the fact she spent a while in the mining industry clouded her judgement of ALL males? All of a sudden, we are one in the same (and i mean absolutely NO disrespect to those who work hard in the mining industry!)! Perhaps someone tried to romance her without a set of Bongo Drums and it's tainted her for life?

As for 'a leading non-testicle, oops, non-terrestrial lobby group', one can only wonder why the CM would be so hard-up for articles at the moment?!

non-terrestrial lobby group??? Sounds like a scientific religous group that maybe a Tom Cruise would enjoy.....

No wonder she is soooo out there.

I don't suppose there was a chance that she mentioned the media officer role in the article????
If I can find a minute or two I think I might have a crack at being a freelance journalist. Might be fun getting crock of muck raking drivel published.

Which raises the question what the hell is a corporate band or artist?
I think they're part timers who supplement main income by entertaining at functions..weddings etc

Well Kev you've stooped to a new low. It may be, as you say, "tongue in cheek" but definitely un-called for.

Let me just drag my knuckles out of my property investment portfolio - T1

Property investment? I'd be interested to know if you invest in properties that are located adjacent to waterways where mangrove removal has occurred?

How about starting with the QLD Government and the Port of Brisbane lefty?

"The Port of Brisbane Corporation, with the approval and support of the Queensland Government, will invest more than $530 million over five years in the new Berths 11 and 12 and associated terminals, which will increase Brisbane's container-handling facility by 25 per cent and take the number of dedicated container wharves at the port to nine."

Lefty you seem to have a very negative and uneducated opinion of our liesure time activities maybe if you spent a bit more time researching the topic that we as people are not happy about . I think you are being a little precious ,if you dont like the responces you recieve to your ridiculous statements then GO AWAY your not really contributing to anything on this site ,.......matt

well lefty..where were you when the foreshores were developed..did not see you there then. Or were you buying the first cleared block of dirt..remember all our blocks used to have natural vegetation on them prior to clearing them for housing..I am glad they did clear the sites..not real keen on living in a cave.

From my observations..to be a member of a green group you have to be a social misfit...joining one of those groups is the only way of finding "friends" and someone to associate with..no one else wants to listen to the babbling about saving this that and the other (and this is NOT said tongue in cheek).

well what a hypocrite, she works for the mining industry raping the land and then goes on a crusade against fishing to soothe her conscience. Jesus that music got annoying real fast, should of known she would be a bongo playing bum wiggler, any hippie new ager worth their tofu can do that. probably twirls fire sticks too. With a head like that its no wonder she hates men. hahaa. she can hum on my bollocks (not).

How else could I drag my knuckles?

Mate, it's satire. If you want to interpret it any other way, suit yourself. It's no different than comments made by highly paid, so-called "presenters" on prime time tv, in particular SBS and ABC.

People make a living from it, me, I just use it to make a point.

satire: "A very common, almost defining feature of satire is a strong vein of irony".

Considering that we'd been debating the similarities in policies between Greens and Nazis, I thought it was ironic that in a Nazi society, the Greens leader would be one of the first to go.

If you don't like my humour/satire, feel free to ignore it, but I don't/won't and never have, modified my behaviour because of the failure of others to see the humour/satire, be it due either to their prudish insensitivities, or to them simply trying to "score points"

I don't play by your rules, I play by mine.

At the recent EPA information night at Sandgate i was informed by a pretty young lass from the EPA, that they monitor this site, Yes hello Leeanne, its me! Want a good job?
Trying to talk true facts ( scientific) to these people is a waste of time as they consider, any research carried out by others, or if it does not fit in with models researched over seas, then it is misinformation and totally incorrect.

I recently recieved an email reporting on a speech that Bill Gates gave to a High School about ELEVEN THINGS THEY DID NOT AND WILL NOT LEARN AT SCHOOL.

He talks about how feel-good politically correct teaching has created a generation of kids with no concept of reality and how this concept has set them up for failure in the real world.

Of the eleven rules Bill Gates talks about, Rule 7 is the one that made me chuckle.

    Rule 7.
Before you were born your parents weren't as boring as they are now. They got that way from paying your bills, cleaning your clothes and listening to you talk about how cool you thought you were.

So before you save the Rain Forrest from parasites of your parents generation, try delousing the closet in your room.

    Cheers,
    Obi_Wan

Actually a very good idea. Just like the bike gangs that collect toys for kids over Christmas to improve their image maybe we could be seen to take disabled children fishing, etc. Just a thought!

It's been done quite a few times by members of this site.

I know your post is in good faith but unfortunately, now that you have mentioned it on those terms, in the future some may use that fact against us by saying that we are doing it for mercenary reasons. As Obi Wan says, this site is monitored by certain groups.
