    Talking Townsville over Long Weekend

Well the handbrake is away from Thursday til Wednesday, so there will be many fishing trips & many drinking sessions over the long weekend! (As though I don't do that anyway )

I am thinking of several options:-

    * Freshwater trip up to the northern creeks chasing Sooties & JP's
    * Creek SP's & small HB's near mouths chasing Jacks, Grunter, etc
    * Fishin as a deckie on the boat of the people lovely enough to take me out
    * Chasing whiting up at northern beaches
    * Many refreshing ales & hours of fishing DVD's
    * Etc etc etc

If anyone wants to go for a fish, or a drink, give me a yell. More than happy to see what's what.

Not sure what the weather is meant to be doing this weekend but if it is good winds then ill be heading out to west point for a troll of my spoons to see if i can pick up a few macks.

Would certainly be interested in chatting with you Andrew! I was thinking of maybe up Bluewater Creek/Crystal Creek way... I'll PM you my number.

Gilli - sounds like a great day, and a great feed if it all pays off! Weather (according to seabreeze) looks like it's going to be a great weekend!

souns like an awesome weekend you're planning. Maybe we could give that spot we were talking about at the pub with dave a go for some jp's. There will be plenty of water there atm and it should be nice and cool so if it gets too hot, we can just sit down in the water..........that's another item for my shopping list...small lures for jp's*sigh* this list just keeps getting bigger and bigger......

    Re: Townsville over Long Weekend

Just had another look at seabreeze, the wind's increased a bit for monday now a blustering 10-15knt.......unfortunately I think it will be a bit too bumpy out wide for my boat, it's bad enough inshore, and I don't quite feel like getting a couple of hip replacements and knee reco's before I'm 23.......

but Sunday is good, Westpoint and Bayrock will be the go for me (bit of a FFF pre-fish)....I pick up some charts tomorrow, so soon I'll be able to venture wider (on a really good day)

PS. Rod I would like to see how you're new electrics go as well (hint, hint) lol.

I am not to sure yet but the cook has put in an order for some muddies. Might be a bit hard at the moment with the people about but if i go will post if anyone wants to come for a run in the tinny. But other than that gonna hit a spot in town i have seen some big whiting over the next night or 2 and maybe hunt some small prawnsin the creek mouths.

Sounds like you've all got some good options sussed for the weekend. I've got friends arriving from Sydney on Friday night. Will wait and see whether it is as good as seabreeze suggests. If so, then a reef trip could be on the cards.

    Regards,
    Dave.
