    Latest build.....

Its been a while since I have had anything worth posting..... Here is the latest creation from the shed...

Its a GUSA P-UR70UL with adapted IPS reel seat, Tic stripper and tip and the rest of the guides in recoils

I was looking for something a little different for the grip set up. I noticed a picture in a members sig that looked like what I was after and Hotrods was more than happy to help me out.

Perrie from Hotrods builds commercially and this is a design he has been working on for a while but he was more than happy to share with a novice like me...... Thanks Perrie

Also big thanks to Peter at GCCR. I wasnt sure which blank I was after so he sent down half a dozen to a local tackle shop for me to have a look at.

    Now whats the next project.....

    Interesting mix on the guides.
Never seen the wire guides used except on fly rods.
Why did you go that way?
    Cheers,
    Owen

    Re: Latest build.....

It cost about $340 all up

Owen - I went with recoils mainly for a weight saving. I re-did an S001 a while ago from Alconites to recoils and it totally changes the feel of the blank.... Feels alot crisper now.

This is only the 2nd time I've used recoils, but in the lighter flick sticks I find that the feel of the rods is a hell of a lot closer to the bare blank..... If you get what I mean
