I have a GME GX600 Marine VHF Transceiver which works well, But lately i've been fishing around 100 kms of Townsville ( needle reef ) and my radio can't contact the coastgaurd. My aerial is 2.5 M long and it sits on top of my canopy. What can i do to improve reception. thanks
Can they hear you but you cannot hear them, what about an extension pole that you can fit in real time when fishing so wide.
You could always petition GBRMPA to move needle closer to the mainland, they seem to have all sorts of black magic abilities right at their fingertips.
I simply couldn't imagine running that far home if it blew up 15-20 in my 6m tinny at 32kph, painfully boring experience, what you going wide in.
