its all downhill from here samburley addiction is a horrible thing. hope you dont have a missus that likes spending time with you or a dog that needs feeding or anything like that. late nights and early mornings is what its about. good luck in future and remember to feed the dog b4 you go

yeah mate hahahah i do have a girl and i'm already getting in strife a bit, but lucky i don't have a dog as well. but she want one of those too

lucky she works nights and i can do my live baiting then

but what really get me is when you leave some essential gear at home dew to and argument and she's rushing you while preparing for a fish (like last night) aaarrrr.

    i'll get there.

    Re: First Jack

sorry it took so long to respond mate, another good tip for keeping the missus happy is to take all the pricetags off the lures. Mines getting pretty good at spotting the new lure boxes, so I just tell her that its an old one I haven't used yet (doesn't look close enough to see the teethmarks). Also helps if you prepare early when there not around to "distract" you, I know the feeling of leaving something important behind. Last weekend forgot the livies (the old man was not impressed to say the least). also if you want to keep the livies alive for a bit longer (whilst you and the missus are discussing the importance of the jocks you left on the floor) is to change the water several times whilst getting the bait. they tend to crap themselves when you first put them in the bucket so a regular water change is essential for water clarity. Anyway good to see you got the bug. Keep us posted on your jack tally, always enjoy reading about the fun had when chasing jacks

finally made it out last night, 5 hook ups & 3 jacks, took a mate along and he got brung to his knees hahah.

i think i have this live baiting thing down for now

Sam burley, wheere are you getting the herring from? Near the spur wall or do you go to the mariner first to load up then over to the spur wall?

    Re: First Jack

livies everywhere at the moment spur walls harbour and the bridge will get you some quality live baits, but i recomend catching some nice little whitting they stay at the desired depth and get hammerd every time.
