they are great on fuel , quiet , start very easily great for trolling or putting the boat up onto the plain . the first one I got was a 15 on a 375 tinnie I then got a 40 with electric trim & tilt on 410 runabout . It does 52 km/h on a good day at 5200 rpms . I mostly cruise around at about 29 klm/h . checked this with gps as well as digital readout on the dash .
I cant comment on etec or two strokes as I have never owned one .

All taken on board i went with yamaha because they seem to have a cult following just like toyota. So i went with the proven and trusted name.

Those people never ring me back either! I got my new Yamaha 60 EFI Four Stroke with Kratzmann's Marine at Burpengary and got a great deal and helpful knowledge with Eddie the Yamaha mechanic. Go with Yamaha, made in Japan and a four year warranty on the four stroke with proper Yamaha servicing.

all i can say is dont go to the dealer in Beenleigh as my mate is looking for a new boat and motor, his wife rang them asked for the price of a 60hp, and was told if you dont know the price then you cant afford it, then hung up on her.

dont think the tool realised, that every few years people upgrade there boats.

Looks like you may have it sorted tin can, but if you're still making a list of dealers then I would put Coorparoo Marine on the bottom of the list. When I was much less aware of boat trailers I purchase one there, told them I had a 15ft tinny, with all the details of the motor, weight etc etc. The fitted me up with an older tinker, with red rollers & no brakes that previously carried a much larger glass boat, could have told me the difference between red & blue runners, could have told me it was 3ft too long for my boat, could have done the right thing as a professional boat dealer & told me that I was probably barking up the wrong tree, but they didn't. I know it's buyer beware, but that shouldn't be the case with a dealer. Anyway, I learned my lesson, much grief later. Hope you get a good deal on you the motor you are after, & that you also get good after sales service if you need it.

I think you will find they are BRP (Etec) .....for Yammy try Kratzmanns at Burpengary, or Dolphin Marine at Mooloolaba, or Ray Scholes at Noosa.
