    Fish Going Off

Ventured out today ....approx 12 miles out of Strahan.....I must admit i have fallen in love with my Furuno 585....The detail is just so impessive....picking up fish has never been easier....We headed home with 62 fish....Alot of fish ....but they will be shared around with the elderly folk in town...

    Mick,

I must have missed the call

I've been looking at the Seas Surface Temperature for the West Coast and there's a big band of warmer water running down the West Coast at the moment - much warmer than the East Coast.

I'm wondering if there would be any tuna running over there if you could make it to the shelf. If you struck a good day it would be great fun to find out.

    I'll bring the gear !!!!!!!!

Stripeys are hard to find on the Westcoast Rob....but with the new Furuno and a bit of patience then the end results speak for themselves....It has not been raining much here...but yesterday started out as a 2.6 to 4 meter days with no wind...but we headed home in probably 25 knots Sw with 3 -5 meters...not very nice..

Ha well Brett...I had a full crew until some of them pulled out at the last moment due to the weather conditions.....As for the water temp...I was only telling the boys the other day ...we were heading down craying...and 2 to 3 mile of Edwardes Bay there were schools and schools of mackeral and redbait...with dolphins and seals driving them in to bait balls.....then there were fish showing on my sounder beneath them....I didnt even think to try and troll a few lures below them....Silly Me....Water temp 12 mile off yesterday was 19 - 20 deg yesterday

That a damn fine haul Mick, well done. I got a 585 for Christmas but because of the weather I haven't really got to use it. Hopefully this sunday it will get a work out.

    Cheers
