Smile Lifting a Ford Courier, Mazda Bravo

    hey guys,
    i have a 94 ford courier 4wd single cab ute, its a petrol 2.6,
    31x10.5x15 all terrain tyres,
the back has 10 leafs which is meant for huge load and torsion bar front,
i want to lift it to clear water near engine as its petrol and dies
(we siliconed around plugs on the other 4x4 and works great but this is daily driver)
rear is easy with blocks or shackels but front is the problem
cant fit 33's as they hit the guards
    and help greatly appreciated

Wind the factory torsion bars up mate... Tighten the adjusting bolt up basically.

Measure from the bottom of the rim to the lip of the guard to get your level. You should get about 2" out of it. Bear in mind though that doing this decreases your down travel unless you cut your bump stops. That'll be about as much as you can get out of a truck like that.

As for 33's... with a 9" grinder, a sledge hammer and a few bucks, anything will fit.

33's on a daily driver is bad news anyway really for something like a Courier... you'll become best mates with your parts supplier buying wheel bearings at a rate where you'll see more of him than his wife does. I'm on my 3rd set in 18 months for the Surf now because there is so much load on a small bearing (and i abuse the truck in the bush)

i know about the torsion bars but they put the geometry out, as for 33's the load is great on bearings especially when sideways down a rutt or that nature as you said, anyway just bought a turbo diesel surf today so project time

Good stuff... any questions you have about the surf, feel free to ask. I don't think there is anything left on mine i haven't either replaced/fixed or modified.
