    Re: Certate R-Fuego

Same price as an R-custom. I paid $514 for the 2500 and $503 for the 2004 finnesse. The first is a CERTATE fuego not a standard fuego hence the querie

When it comes to spin reel technology Daiwa leads the field and this unit is a super special product that is built to last a lifetime and will never let you down.

Whether fishing for mighty mangrove jacks in the tropics or lunker flathead down south mthis reel guarantees to deliver maximum performance. My best fish to date using this reelo is a 2,75 kilo mangrove jack caught using a Gold Bullet lure on 10 lbs Penn Power Braid (This fish will be mounted and on display at Bransfords Tackle Shop).

Built like a Sherman Tank it features Silent oscillation, dual engine plates, air bail, cross wrap winding system, abs spool, twistbuster , 10 x CRB sealed stainless bearings, full metal body, super heavy duty drag, titanium nitrided spool lip and is washable. How good is that for a specification!!!!

If my memory serves me right the fuego is a reel that was discotinued about 18 months ago. I think and I will check with an old mate - Great reel however about the right price. This is all from memory and I am getting older!!!!

yeah it was a special model of the certate which i think preceeds the 2500R we have now. basically exactly the same in red paint!! i just got a couple of spools for my 2500R and the std ones were $110 from Daiwa Aus but with a long wait for stock.....they got back to me via the tackle store with the suggestion of some Certate 2500R fuego spools they had hanging around for only $80 each!!!! I snavelled those thanks.

The fuego has a magnesium body. I don't know if the model your taking about does. Magnesium is usually fine in the slat water as long as you look after it and don't knock it about too much and scratch it or it my start pitting.

Yes, I own the 2500, exactley the one in Naggs pic and it is a sweet real with an awesome drag, i've had it over 2 years now, i run 10 pound fireline on it and it is matched to an E.Grell S4... A great combo.
    You will not be disappointed.

    Hi Marty,

The S4 in your photo's seems to have a longer but than the S4's i've seen. Is that an older model S4? or did you have that made up?

Its the older model S4. from the CSF Team Extreme days when Eric was making the rods for CSF under contract or something. then they (CSF) went T Ts up and Eric carried on with out them. Haven't looked back since i believe. i also like the look of the older S4's longer foregrip, i have the newer model but reckon the older style grip is a good idea for bay snapper addicts and light offshore plastics. great rods and well matched to the 2500 certate.

    Cheers Roo.
