Hi all ausfishers ,
I have just come back from a five day barra chasing trip & chase we did all day ,every day for five days . we even tried fishing in the dark . the misses wasnt to happy about that as we could not see much as it was so dark out there .
one of the days the rain was so heavy you could not see land in any direction . thank god for the gps .
well we never caught any barra , we flicked out shallow & deep diving lures , soft plastics & tried trolling but no barra . we even fished the same spots as harro & johnny mitchell as we seen them both on the water . we caught quite a few eel tailed catfish . there are some big mothers out there . some boys from redcliffe caught fifty barra for the week . we spoke to a guy who caught a meter twenty on his first troll of the dam . DAM i said to my wife . we didnt catch what we came for but we will be back . next time I will go out with a guide hopefully harro to try to get my first legal barra . this was my fourth trip to the great lake , the first trip I got two both undersize & lost three at the boat , the second trip I caught none but the misses got two one at 63 cm & the other @ 67cm , then at easter we both came up with nothing & yet again no fish in January 08 but we will be back some time this year .
hope this is not to long winded . cheers fae haggis .
Nope, not long winded at all Haggis.
Geez those Reddy boys went allright, 50 bara for the week, and then old mate smackin a 120 on the troll on his first go - aaaaargh, is there no justice in this world???
What did you get the eel tails on, lures/softies???
cheers
