    Bribie Island

Hi, I was wondering what the beach is like at the moment? I was planning on heading there this weekend and just wanted to make sure you can still drive on it. Did it get affected much by the storms a few weeks back?
    Thanks.

I was up there a couple of weeks ago, but it was high tide so gave it a miss. The beach looked fine to me, i might even make a trip up there this Sunday if I can find some time.

    G'day

I was meant to be camping there last week.... didn;t happen as the ranger shut down both poverty and gallaghers.

the entire inland road is shut and the beach is only on an hour either side of low.

This is info from the ranger there as of the 8th. Unless the rain had subsided and tracks dried out enough for them to have a grader go through, I believe it'd be much the same

You will find that the tracks usually dry up pretty quickly being a sand Island. We havnt had to much rain latley so if it holds off you'll be right.

    Re: Bribie Island

I was on the beach Sunday arvo and it was the flatest I have seen it.
It was like a continuation of the road. It was low tide and perfect.
Didn't even need 4wd to get to the beach so the track was fine also.

Always take care around the top of the tide though, there have been some big tides over the past couple of months.

    Hope this helps.

Live in the area but have no idea.
Humility is not a weather condition.

You can access the beach from the eighth ave. carpark at Woorim on the ocean side as well as the inland tracks from white patch. There is about 30km of beach to drive with Lagoons,WW2 bomb shelters, hospital and gun turants to look at. There is also good camping grounds up there. Just get your beach permit for your veichle from the Bongaree caravan park, it's about $100 for an annual.
