    Jumpinpin fishing comp

Hi i was just wondering if there was a bream comp on today at the pin, i saw a heap of the big banger fishing outfits you see on tv when they have the bream or bass comps, and they would have found it tough going today, dirty water for much of the morning and a ripping southerly, i gave up chucking plastics and me and my son pumped some yabbies for a total of 1 whiting, its just amazing that more people dont get hurt on the water with 40ft boats flying along at 25knots through places mackenzies channel, im so glad i work sundays and miss the absolute circus that is the pin on the weekend, at on stage heading back to jacobs i had 8 boats, 1 houseboat and 3 jet skis coming at me.

Ps. would love a few tips on where to get the whiting, tried the banks north of tip of short, near the huts on carusoe and north west section of carusoe for 1.

Yep there was the Gold Coast summer series on. I was fishing it, and didn't do too well at the pin, we picked up 2 on the flats, but that was it.

Most of the fish came from the seaway.

hey alleycat, I know what you mean... it was like some kind of grandprix out there!

Boats everywhere! I went to Jumpinpin yesterday and caught nothing but an eel.... lol.... I never seem to catch anything up on the GC.... (come up from canberra a couple of times a year) the only time i have caught much has been off the SP Jetty. With a heap of Dart being caught.... but that is it really.... I suppose a lot of it is just not knowing the area well enough etc....

well I better get some rest... .going to try going out on the boat again tonight..... wish me luck I'll need it......

all we have caught so far (since friday) has been.... 3 toadfish, an eel & a stingray!

Gday swabio, when the water quallity is ok i have good success around the yellow crossover that you come to on your left coming into tipplers channel from jacobs well, all the drop off around there do quite well for bream and flahead.

    Hi alleycat,

Try in Tiger mullet channel, Slipping sands, and ofcourse of the beach at bedrooms.

Still plenty more spots out there but find a rippled sand bottom and you will usually catch fish.

Although I never use yabbies as you seem to catch a lot more vermin than worms.

P.m. me if ya need more info.

Alleycat at least with $20 of worms, you come home with a feed. I don't see the sense in wasting $50 fuel for no feed.

But good luck any way. Also tide can make a difference as where to fish depending on run in or out.

Also try to keep you boat as stiil as possible not swaying in the breeze. Trust me it makes a big difference.
