Nice shovelly mate. That would have been an interesting struggle.

As for the catties, someone was saying this in a thread the other day. i think they are out in force in the low estuary at the moment because of the high levels of fresh currently being flushed down. Hopefully the bullies will pick them up, and I've seen dolphins eating them too.

The dolphins actually bite them off from behind, and you see all these catfish heads floating around when the dolphins are around, obviously because of the spines.

Yeah pulled alright for a shovelly. Catties are a pain in the ass stealing all my beautiful baits. I'll get a thready one day, I'll just have to fish even more if thats possible. Ben

I hear ya when you say the catties are a pain in the arse stealing all your good bait. Hope you havent used up all your luck hooking up 2 beauties then pulling the hooks on em Blooey or is that bad luck . Sounds like your determined anyway mate. Looks like they are becoming a bigger target by fisho's in the river, hopefully there is a fair bit of catch and release going on with them, i know im never gunna keep one. Good luck with em Blooey. Cheers LW

Your not bad luck are ya Blooey. Now ya mates missing em aswell. Maybe you need to let em take it for a little longer. The ones ive hooked on livies have all taken it down deep in the gob or maybe you need to change hook size. I want to see ya land one mate. Good Luck Blooey . LW

Think i might be mate. He was using circle hooks so as not to pull the hook on a baitrunner and let it run for ages before engaging. Wasn't a big one either. Oh well. Next time. Ben
