Tyranos 30

G'Day all. After a bit of advice.

The minister got me a Tyranos 30 two speed for christmas . Do youy think i would be better of loading it with braid or mono.

At the moment- 9 months of the year i fish shallow (30m) and head out deaper during the day (100m). Baitrunners for the shallows and a TLD 25 for deaper.

- 3 months of the year chasing the faster lads with 15's.

Wondering what you guys use yours for.

Use the tyrnos for a dedicated trolling reel imo, and for that case, load it with mono.

Keep using the TLD25 for the deep.

Thanks for the reply dave. Mainly chasing Hoo, Dollies and macks on the troll with accidental little blacks. Do you think it might be a bit of an overkill for these?

No way an overkill, I use the 30 for 8gk Billfish comps, heaps of capacity and 5:1 retrieve makes it a top 10-15kg pelagic reel or a 15-24kg bottom red/snapper reel

Five of them sitting in my garage at the moment, all are set up with mono for trolling. Used to use one for bottom work but went back to the TLD 25 as it was a little lighter, then changed to a Tyrnos 16.

Chances are you may need the capacity if something big comes along.

I use a tyrnos 20 for bottom work, really impressed with it
