Caught a couple over off Patts Point. Very pretty to look at.

I have caught rock flathead in 80 foot of water and are sweeeeeeeeetttttt
Like lipper i suppose get them out of the shallows and they taste weedy get them in 100 footplus water are just as good as trout

Thanks Captain Stabin for posting this. Its answered a question ive had in my brain for about 10 or more years. I caught one in the Nerang and never knew what species of flattie it was ,let it go cuz was just undersize. Read JT Pythons reference site on this species and says they grow to 58cm and weight of 6.5 kilos . Thats either a miss print or it was a extremely well fed flathead they got that data from. mine was alot more of a greenie colour though compared to yours,must be cuz it was in the river . Cheers LW
Yeah think it maybe a mis print, if anything this was nore slender than say a Dusky, not much of a head either
