Chimo me too on the holding off till I just had to look because it was still around.

Just a thought, it's not good practice to soak your tyres in water (strictly speaking) it may not make any difference to any one person though, by the numbers I understand it is a no-no.

Putting masking tape over the tell tale would be the best choice I think.

wash out then wipe the surface dry and apply a just wide enough piece of low tack tape....even if you forget to take it off, it wont last long with a bit of water and preasure.
