That's a little unfair Chong!! By all reports Newb's knows all the top iodine bream spots inside Musgrave lagoon!!!! He also know how to anchor that berty right over the mark which can be tricky in 10 m of water!!! I must swap some good red marks for those iodine bream spots at the next M/G

Blaze, I gotta break ya bubble here mate. I went out on a charter "Tura" a few weeks back and I reckon there was a bloke on that trip that doubled your, shall we say SKILLS, for catching Iodines. This poor bugger was like a 1 legged man in an arse kicking comp. NOWHERE. Every drop, bang a double of Iodine.
Mind you, they are great bait and I hooked up on pleanty of quality fish thanks to his bait.
I also had a greek mate come out with me once, You guys know him as "Volvo" on here. He actually cooked a few of these, apparently, crap fish and they are not bad at all on the chew.

Well its the hookup this weekend in Gladstone. Weather gods look like they may smile on it this year. Anyone coming up for it?

Lucky Phil put the fillet knife through a few that trip and they were ok fresh (couldnt get much fresher either cause the fillets were still wriggling when they went in the pan)

I'm starting to count down the days now. All is in readiness, just need to spool up with new braid. There will be a SP attack on some of the Red spots this time. That is after we bag out on 14kg momma's.

I will attempt to post up a " who's going " list shortly.

Had a call from the Bugmeister,,, doesn't look like he can make it, but with some encouragement, I am sure he can be persuaded. Might have to bring Mrs Bugg and Harrison ( Bugg Jnr ) along. Why not ?

Team Sunlover are all keen and some supplies have already been put in place.

The Cook-Off Chefs are ready ( apparently ) , the Voting forms conceived and the Judges will be decided on Saturday Evening. There has been a lot of " bravado " involved in this years Cook-Off, so you Chefs had better come up with the goods, or heads will roll.

The Ausfish Vs PBA Fish-Off ( at this stage, subject to bribes ) will be a " Winner take all " affair, with only the perpetual trophy on offer. The winner will be decided by a secret weight, secret fish system. So Guys and Gals, any fish can be a winner. There will be 2 judges for this event, 1 from AF and 1 from PBA.. sorry Peter ( snappa ), you have been disqualified on the grounds of not drinking enough during M & G's.

The Tinnie Tour is still on for those interested. But if the weather holds good, all fishing will be offshore....

The M & G booklet will again be on offer with some extras added ( IAN... send that email !!! ) If you think anything else should be included, just pm me. A full size photo of the Queensland S.O.O team holding the 2008 series Trophy will adorn the centre page spread...

The commemorative shirts have not been fully ratified, but should be underway shortly. I'll keep you posted.

The " inclement weather ' activities are yet to be decided, but I am sure some of you ferrets can come up with something to amuse ourselves with... NO... Paul.. propping up the bar at the Tavern is NOT on the daytime list

If any of you having been taking notice,, in the offshore reports here abouts, 1770 has been going off, after all the crap weather during the first half of the year so far.
