Wel I have to put my 2 bobs worth in cause if I didnt, I wouldnt be Newby. Having said that, i will try and keep it civil for a change.
Thanks to all that were there at Roz's and out at Musgrave. It was great to catch up with everyone. Had a bloody ball. Mother nature once again gave us all the shits but thats boatin for ya.
Chongy, you me old mate get a special mention. You are beyond doubt a F@&$cking legend. I have never met anyone that can drink like you and still get it together enough to play the spoons to dualling banjos. Love ya work Chongy.
To the judges of the cookoff BLAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH.
Once again the competition was rigged. Not only did the judges empty Roz's crab pots to stop her entering, they gave the winning votes to RAW chook wings over and above my most delicious ribs. At least chongy's raw, over marinated, prawns didnt beat me.
Lucy Phil, SEPTEMBER mate. Thats the date for a M&G where we have a better than average chance of good weather.
Love ya's all. Thanks for the memories.
I CAME INTO THIS WORLD KICKING, SCREAMING AND COVERED IN SOMEONE ELSES BLOOD. I HAVE NO PROBLEM GOING OUT THE SAME WAY.
NEWBY T.G.
Newbs you should have tasted Aigutso's wings he had in the team Wave fridge after an extra 24hrs marinating time mmmmmmmm................ Sen-F*%#en_Sational !
Combine your sauce this year and ribs last year and you would have won the cook off this year
Yes great memories are what brings us back each year
How many more sleeps now ?
Damo.
Newbs I was shattered to race in and Find Lucky_phill washing your sensational sauce down the drain I was going to try and liven up the secret chefs sad go at a feed with your you beaut best sauce ever
thanks fro the bed at Lady Musgrave and the JD or was that a dream??????
next year order the bloody weather will ya and show us where to get the reds so Snappa don't keep bragging haha
Newby's ribs rule
cheers Murf
by the way did any one end up with a pair of leather boots??????????
I seem to have lost mine
7 Days @ 1770
It seems once a year that some guys would cheer
The time has come for some red fishing fun
They pack up their boats and all things that float
Heading up north for some real fishing sport
The teams all arrive, how did they survive?
The distance for some was like a trip to the sun
The banter begins, Tranter thinks he can win
Maybe he’s a chance at the oldies dance
Day one this year some shed a tear
As the wind and waves made some feel brave
Others like Chong, grabbed the rummy bong
And some like Phil well you know the drill…
Day two comes around, most heads are down
The cook off was done, everyone had fun
Newbie and his ribs, some say like eating wheelie bin lids
While Aigutso the champ gave everyone bum cramps
Day three is here, Cheech sets course east he steer’s
Baits are dropped, not catching a lot
Should go to Bustard, where team Roz had musted
For a play in the sand, sounds real grand?
Day Four, the Deckie is around, bum pointed to the ground
Fishing is out, that Tav’s got some clout
A challenge is set, Black_Rat lays down the bet
A war cry bellows out and Stuie is down for the count
Day five I think, my liver was pink...
A trip to the Grave, We are all fishing slaves
A night in the lagoon saw Chong on the spoons
A few fish where caught but not the right sort
Day six gave us hope, but the fish well nope
So back to base where Team Wave awaits
For the news of a red, enough already said
So back to the bar, young Damo you’re a star
Day seven dawns, most start with a yawn
Its time to pack and all head back
Another great year, fun, rum and some beer
How many sleeps till next year’s treats?
Sounds like you are still under the influence !!!!!!!!

To Chong,
A true champion amongst fishos! I have been following this thread from its inception to its completion and it has given me many laughs. It has been one of the best threads for a long time. From Newby with his boat with all its multi million dollar repairs through to looking at The Deckie cooking ash eggs, ash bacon etc.
Mate, the way you can drink the home made rum is astounding!! I thought I was pretty good with the old rumbo, but your escapades have left me breathless!! As I said, a true champion.
I'm sorry that you had the misfortune to connect with that bloke Tranter from cockroach country, but he'll settle down in time. Maybe he's got a mental problem, which most of them do when they back the blues.
It would be good to meet up sometime. Also of course with your partner in crime, Cheech.
As a mark of respect, I leave you with this salutation, you're "Simply the Best" to borrow a song from Tina Turner.
