I have the TLD 15 and have used it for years with no problems. Light, good retrieval rate, lever drag, robust etc. Thing is once you use a bigger , better ( IMO ) reel and feel the difference, you know you have to use one in areas that big fish inhabit.

I have hauled in 8ft Ocean Sharks on the 15 ( took bloody hours ) and trolled with it, live baited etc.... but in 50 -80 mtrs water, hauling AJ 's, Kingies or bucket mouth Pearlies to the surface, the Tyrnos is streets ahead. The 5 to 1 rate is fantastic. I used it a while ago in 114mtrs of water and let me tell ya, when ya miss the fish and need to get rig up and back down in a hurry ( drifting over a wreck ), the 5 to 1 speed is the dux nutz. I also ' jig ' with the Tyrnos.......

Then on the other side, us Queenslanders are no " girlies " when it comes to weight of our tackle, so we will let the southerners utilize the " light stuff ".

I wouldn't go back to a TLD, the Trynos are just a better reel to use when pulling in the big ones Not that will bother those south of the boarder (they think they're better )

Oi Murf. If ya go the tld (like the one that pulled the biggest red last yr) I will give ya one of the extended handles with billet aluminium, handmade knob...... or I might have a twin handle somewhere still lying around, effectively giving u 2 retrieve speeds (just like the one that pulled the biggest red last yr) . Ironically, I actually got the idea to make them from an alvey.

A much better all round footballer, more variety of skills yeh I know also more variety of drugs, but he was still a good football player. And No Newcastle aren't in the finals, not sure who to go for, can't stand Manly, Brisbane, Warriors, so that doesn't leave much.
