    wetting braid before 1st use

I would just like to know if you really do have to wet fireline before you put it on your reel?

That's the first I've heard of it. Years ago it was suggested to immerse your spool of mono in water. That practice seems to have stopped as well.
When tackle stores load your new reel with mono or braid these days, they dont immerse the spool in water.

I don't think braid needs to be wetted before first use.

    Cheers Jeff.

I do it with everything. I recon it provides a bit of lube/coolant as the line goes through the guides. Just like when its being used.

Gotta agree with Oh Gee, to spin it on dry will cause friction & damage.
