Interesting enough.................we trolled through the debri....the fish are all under the debri...............smacking lures like nothing
Yellows mixed in with bass................

Re: Moogarah
You are quite right Budgebass but the fish at Maroon are generally a lot smaller that Moogerah.
While Moogerah bass are mostly over 40cms the Maroon 40cm bass are few and far between.
I read somewhere that it is because there are no boney bream for the bass to feed on in Maroon but there are thousands in Moogerah so the bass get big and fat.

Re: Moogarah
That is correct Phil.....no boney bream in Maroon.......plenty in Moogerah to keep them fat.
But the bass at Maroon continually chase topwater fodder which makes them chase poppers so well.
Unfortunately I am yet to score a bass on a popper at Moogerah. I will keep trying. For me though its Maroon popper bass Hundreds plus V Moogerah popper nil.

Re: Moogarah
Hi Guys
Tried Moogerah again yesterday, It has cleaned up a lot and is now quite fishable (is that a word?).
Tried for a couple of hours without success but at least I could see the fish on the sounder - Just not hungry I guess.
Moved on to Maroon for about four hours and had a great session. Caught about 20 bass all in the late 20's except for two which were in the mid 30's and will be tonight's tea.
Funny thing is I caught all of them on a gold lure which I had painted myself a few days earlier.
Other guys at Maroon did not catch much at all, for example, one boat was fishing from 8am until 3 pm for just two fish.
Another fished with sp's in the trees for the same time as I did, for only one fish.
Before I go again I think I will paint some more lures gold! I have never used poppers and as I was leaving the fish were hitting the surface. Might have to try fly I think. But only when nobody else is nearby because it is a bit dangerous when I get my fly gear out!
BTW all the rubbish at the ramp has gone and the dam is clear of weeds and logs.
Can't go fishing for a while because the kids are back at school and I have to start work again - Bummer!
Phil
