TC Helen...here we go again

Well TC Helen is on its way to say hello . Not a real big one thank god only going to be a CAT 2 they tell us. It should hit land around 12pm tonight just south of Darwin.....

Currently we are just getting gusty wind and a bit of rain...50-100mm but by 12 we will get gusts of up to 40-50knts and LOTS of rain.

This time people seem to have done the right thing and cleaned up and stocked up with fuel and food......good to see


The boat is locked up in the shed and everything is tied down at home so we will be fine....most of us a happy to see the rain as it should mean a bumper run off for the barra fishing....

The weather radar is worth a look if you have time..... you can see the eye clear as day (BOM site)

Oh I forgot to add.... wave hight out at sea is 16 feet on a heavy swell...bugger that.

They tell us it will get to 4mtrs in the harbour tonight as well...

The BOM shot is good, You can see the eye very clearly. First cyclone I have seen on BOM.

Same here dodgy all ready....Just about to shut down the plant and head home to make sure the family are all ok....but so far it all seems OK.

It's not a cyclone until it hits cat. 3. cat 1 and 2 is just a bit of strong wind and rain.. Needless to say it's not the elements that kill people it's the flying debri.

Hope this cyclone doesn't affect your area too much though and everyone stays safe.

Wind is up around 70km/phr now and getting stronger...but all is ok...only thing stuffed so far is my best Bannana tree and a ripped shade sail. but the best is 1-2 hours away they tell us...

Not bad enough to stay awake for so we will see what it has done in the morning..
