    Hinze levels

Up at Hinze this afternoon and dam has risen a metre from last night. Probably up to the level of year ago. The concrete pad under the tower at the ramp is under water again and the water is up against the first rock wall. Fished for a hour off the bank at the ramp for no success.

    Re: Hinze levels

Reckon it only has a metre to rise and it will be over the spillway. The car park is innudated and you have to be prepared to walk up the hill. Cars were parked up as far as the power station this morning.
We had a good day lost count at 35 fish 2 on shrimp rest on g vibes and jackalls etc.

    Re: Hinze levels

For anyone planning to fish at hinze dam tomorrow[sunday] get in early ,car parking places will be a premium. The water level has risen over the carpark up to where the road divides. Its probably fair to say the water level has risen 4 or 5 metres in the last few days.
With Springbrook in the hinterland receiving another 265mm overnight further runoff will continue to increase the water level.

    Re: Hinze levels

Can anyone explain why the recent popularity of Hinze - it was only a year ago whereby there were only a handful of cars at each of the 4 ramps. You could fish the whole day an only run into 2 or 3 boats (plus the sports tuition canoes of course).

    Re: Hinze levels

It may be now that all the boats are concentrated at the one ramp instead of 4 as previously.
Would be interesting to see if no of permit sales have gone up.
It is a real pain for Brisbane fishos if they want to come down for a day to get a weekly permit now.

With the water rise the Western Ramp will now come into play. People i know whomhave made the long trip from East to west did well.

The west end has not had a flogging of late !

Hinze will go over i reckon look at the charts and logs.

Ray I am in the reverse situation and wound up just getting an annual Hinze permit and annual SIP, even though I only go to SIP dams 2 or 3 times a year at most, at about $1.50 a week in total for both licenses.

And for spur of the minute trips just made it easier all round...if all the money is for stocking it isn't to bad really
    Regards
