I have packed both types of rods in the boat offshore and bay fishing
I think a good hard look at the bar will be a sensible option before going out
I am expecting to be turning around @ the bar and fishing inside the bay though
But you could get lucky and the swell may have fallen away
I am hoping seabreeze is right but the synoptic charts on bom say otherwise
