oxley creek.
gday all. took the kids for a fish this morning to get out of the house and try our luck at the mouth of the oxley creek at tennyson."couldnt be bothered taking the boat out till weather gets a little better" threw the cast net scored some poddies and small prawns and on the hooks they go. straight up get a big tug on the mullet but no hook up. after a few picked baits the nephews rod starts to bend , he quickly picked up rod thank god"was one of mine " it was going in the drink. he put pressure on the fish and up she comes approx 2ft of threaddie walking on water and back down she goes running, then thang . bloody kids playing with the drag. oh well. next time. next it was my turn as my rod starts to bend and in comes a nice flattie 54cm on the mullet. lucked changed a little after this with 2 bite offs 20pound trace guessing bullies the culprits. scored a 29cm bream then packed up as about half dozen others turned up.abit to crowded on the pontoon for me. gave them a couple of live poddies , took the kids over to canoe ramp to clean their feet and hear a big splash back at the pontoon. old mate pulls in a 2ft bullie on the poddy i just gave him. got photo of shark on phone have no usb cable so cant post it but sure its no big deal anyway same as the flattie and bream .we have all seen em before. this is first time ive fished here and im pretty surprised that i can go have abit of fun and catch decent fish 10min from home. sure to go back on days when the weather is like it has been.

Re: oxley creek.
I drive across hat bridge quite often in my job and have always wondered if anything decent was to be had there. Might have a crack at it soon.
