lake maraboon hot but fun

Lake Maraboon in emerald 5th December to 13th December
I took my family and our friends for a 9hour drive to a dam that i had only visited when i was a young fella
Emerald had just had some storms that had brought the dam from 16% to 26% in three days
So the water was very dirty but we put out 10 pots within 2 hours of getting their the girl had told us we had to have the camper set up before the boat could even touch the water
The pots were baited with a range of veg from potatoes, pumpkin , sweet potatoes, dog biscuits and even some roast lamb bones. Pos were placed in around 5 to 12 feet of water.
we returned to the pots the next morning to find only three small red craw .a 9 hour drive for three small red craw the boat wasn’t happy so we moved 5 pots to the other side o the bay.
We then went and tried for a yellow belly with no luck. We went back to camp with our three small redcraw the Wives back at camp were up us about the heat{32to 35} and still going on about the drive it only got worse when we showed them the catch . we turned back out to check the pots that afternoon and the drive started to look not that bad we had 15 giants . Tried for a yella again with no luck.

The following days average were around 35 to 40 a day. Fish count was 3 but they were only small bone bream that were in the pots. Not one yella or any of the Barra that are on the wall in the caravan park.
The wives were happy by the end due to a trip to the gem fields where both received a Safire that we found out of a bucket of wash you can buy from the miners
