2nd tanga trip 16th-23rd

Spent another fun week on Moreton island this week staying at Tangalooma resort. Didn't do a great deal of fishing but still managed to wet a line a few times. I've just about had the sh#*s with fishing the jetty due to the cormorants, but we still managed a few bream and even a nice size gold spot cod. A walk up towards Ben ewa was disappointing, as I got to the point to find a bunch of blokes who were using a large drag net all around my favourite flathead spot I casted around them for close to half an hour before they finally finished but I couldn't manage a bite. I did spook a few about 200m south of there but couldn't get a touch on the plastics from anything but small dart and the ever present toadies. Have attached a few photos, not many of fish but some nice sunset/nightime ones as well.

Well Dons and i thought Drag Nets were of the past???? I have not seen one in so long!

Cheers guys, I wish the dragnets were in the past mate. These guys did quite a few runs and I'm betting they netted more than their share of undersize whiting off that bank. Looked like it was all for bait out wide.

used a drag net for years, works very well on the inside of moreton for whiting, hardieheads , garfish, herring etc always got the net in the boat.
