Put the pots out the day before captaining my mates stessl truck 60 four stoke yammy. Great boat. The weather was terrible and the tides were on the wrong side of the moon. But we had to make it work.
So we were up early in morning near the end of the out going tide, up the creeks, to catch plenty of live mullet and prawns.
Got stuck into the fishing and managed to catch two king salmon, big lizard, nice bream, loads of caties and sting rays.
Tide was getting up by this stage and it was time to check those pots that i had put in the day before. We ended up with 12 big muddies(males), of which 5 was released as they were a little green. Collected the pots and started to head home.
Quick change of plan and decided to use the last 7 live mullet along the headlands, which was like sitting in the washing machine on spin cycle.
Got busted off 5 times on 60 pound gear, but finally manged to stop one.
"Dinner". Short and happy trip home. All the best and a merry safe christmas.
