    Gelcoat repairs???

I have recently bought a new trailer which isn't as forgiving for my driving on skills(average) and have put a few heavy scratches/gouges on the keel of my boat as well as a few chips (possibly 40mmx20mm ish). Is there an easy way to repair these? It only seems to have damaged the gelcoat. Is there a product that I can just apply and sand smooth or am I dreaming?

Any decent boat shop will sell gelcoat repair. It comes in a tin with a seperate tube of hardener. You get out how much you need add the right amount of hardener and apply, just like mixing fiberglass resin. It dries relatively quickly (too quick if you use too much hardener) and then just simply sand it smooth.

            G'day

            Search for replies of Grand_Marlin

He's a mobile professional, and one of his talents is gelcoat repairs.

Whatever you do, DO NOT get "gelcoat repair putty" It's a polyester bog and you will replace whats missing with something different

            You need flowcoat and mepk.

Have a read of grand marlins threads...
