i hear the nitro range is ok??????
Hi Bluefin,
I read that you had already contacted Eric, but perhaps I can shed a little more light on the subject of S10's. The egrell s10 (blue) is higher modulous, a nice soft tip and a VERY strong but section making it the best of both worlds. The s10 bear (brown) has the nice soft tip but substantially less power down low. The s10H bear has similar grunt to the blue egrell but also has a stiffer tip section. The bear and the egrell are almost identical in weight. Remember that the bears are different, not necessarily inferior to the egrells. If fishing offshore you may prefer the stiffer tip of the s10H. If fishing inshore more, perhaps the lighter tip will suit. You mentioned you will be running 15-20lb. If your line is tournament rated pe (and will break under the stated strain) you can go heavier than 20lb. I run 30lb and would consider 50lb offshore. (this dosn't mean you cant run lighter line.
The s10 is a very versatile rod and I imagine you will be very happy with any model. Please remember the the above is all my opinion and may not be accurate. Go and have a look for yourself.
By the way, the capricorn is not a bad reel and will suit the rod well. Take it shopping with you so you can get a feel for the whole outfit
