yes I have seen cyclone damage and how fast it grows back , every year the reefs spawn and all those little eggs settle down somewhere and start to grow.
I have also been out there when spawning has occured and the next morning the water has been thick with reef eggs and by mid morning it's formed huge red mats of floating eggs which drift off with the tides to find their place of growing.
Mate I spent 3 years fishing those waters for the T-line to Chinaman reef and that area is huge , come to think of it I didn't run into any greeny's or polly's out there.....must have been their days off.
