Mine 80cm From the Tweed.
My big flathead was 9 lb, about a meter .
It was caught up Currumbin Ck , 20 years ago on a all nighter, got three good jacks as well.
In those days we ate the big flatties.
Times change and we all learn .
All caught on mullet fillets on wire and 6.0 and 30 lb .

A workmate was walking across Tallebudgera bridge, eastern side, Gold Coast, and saw a big 1 m sand flattie in the shallows.
He raced back to his ute and grabbed a garden fork and ran into the shallows and caught it.
I don't think it was BS, sometimes you don't know.
people didn't carry digital cams or mobiles with cams...........
