Attached is a photo of me from about 10 years ago with my PB, before keeping a big one was considered "uncool", even if I wanted it would have been pointless, here's the story: Was fishing the Tweed, drifting for whiting on 2kg, got a small hit and struck, felt a bit of weight, fish on!!! Got the fish easily to within 5m of the boat when I got nailed, line started peeling off the 2000 Shimano at rapid speed, after about 10 minutes the beast surfaced belly up beside the boat!!! As I netted her the line broke, turns out the big girl had fully inhaled the 25cm Flattie I had actually hooked and become impaled on it's gill rakers, all arse no class, but I'll take it!!! Had to conduct surgery to release the pup to swim away. Haven't been able to top 80cm ever since, have had a couple of crocs follow hooked pups to the boat though!!!! She went over 90cm, I'm 6'4", pretty sure it's head is bigger than mine, would love a couple of these during the Classic in a couple of weeks. Cheers, Jamie.
