not having a go at you mate but u should NEVER hold big breading female flathead like that, 99% of the time they will die being held like that

Yeah always support their bellys. I use a wet cloth to jaw grab them then I support their bellys.

My biggest to date is 83cm, caught on a berkley dropshot 4 inch, colour was smelt scales. I've caught all my best fish on this colour.
