how much better is the yama than the nitlon? i got a bit of both but havent tried the yama yet. how is it better?

I look at the knot tying ability. Hardness and Abrasion resistance. But the biggest selling point is it's low visibility due to it's refractive index. IE: the degree to which light bends or refracts as it passes through a substance. This can be as low as 1.42 which is nearly identical to the refractive index of water. Which is 1.3.

I would say the cheaper stuff doesn't have the low refractive index and is probably not as hard and non porous.

Unfortunately with fishing line, you get what you pay for.

I highly doubt Nitlon is one of them myself.

Have a look at some of the jap flouro leaders, is the best tip i can give.

Let me rephrase that. Have a look at some of the better Jap Flouro leaders.

My pick of lines is Sunline. It's the best in the world, full stop.

Nitlon IS [IMO] a better Jap FC from the YGK stable, along with Nitlon, Pro Hunter, Jigman, Ultra Jigman, Castman and Ultra Castman Braids, and Galis Absorber Leader and FC. I have never had a problem with any of these products when Popping, Jigging and using Nitlon FC as my go to leader for 6-20lb.

Not if you buy the Vanish leader material. It's completely different to the mainline and comes on a small black spool. $20 for 50 yds in the smaller poundage. I often wonder how many ppl are running the mainline as a leader and wondering why it's not working.

Count me as one of those . Bought it after reading about Vanish on here. Apart from the quantities the packaging of the 2 is pretty much identical.
