F/Mark - Got we came for but plenty of work to do.

    Well I'm buggered!

Got home 1:30am after a great evening out on the water. Hit some marks out near West Pt, Magnetic I. for an evening's live squidding for fingermark. Plenty of squid with unusually clear water near the island but the fish were very timid.

2 ~2-3kilo fingermark were boated with one biggie lost to terra firma and a few other misses. My experience has been 'bang, crash' with these guys but last night they were very slow; sucking and mouthing the squid with only a few going on with the job. Only other fish boated was a small gold-spot (released).

Wind died off nicely around 10 but, picked up again not long after making the squid harder to find and turning the bite off. Still, good enough conditions with nice frosties and some old mates. The fish were the cherry on the top of a good evening's entertainment.

Excellent stuff Mozza. What a great evening to be out on the water with coldies and fishing the time away. Nice catch those Fmark.

    Keep your freezer stocked

    cheers

Good stuff Mozza. Dan and I went out on Friday night to try and find the hole off the point near picnic bay. Saw a few squid but couldn't entice them nearer without running too close to the bommies on the falling tide. We checked out Westpoint in the morning. It was a glass out and there was no action at all. Wind was ENE. So I'm guessing the day leading up to the new moon is a no goer and wind direction may have had a factor in it too. Noticed the barometer was 1012 to 1014 on the night we went out so there were many things against us. I'm beginning to think that I'm the jinx in my own boat. Will have to arrange a tag along one day with one of you more successful blokes.
Any fishing is good fishing (should probably say Any fishing is...probably going to be illegal soon)
