    Re: Daiwa monster mesh rod

Hi krazyfisher, I am in the market for just that class of rod. I held off buying a T-curve 400 in search of a more parabolic action(but I have two 200 models I really like). How much for the monster mesh and what length is it? What happened to your 400? Cheers Michael

    diabolical
Nothing happened to the t-curve just never really liked it. I have a jigwrex rod and its great to use and the monster mesh feel very much the same. I think its about 5'10. I paid $240 i think. feel very nice loaded up and with a torsa on it it will cast a large popper not too bad.

    Re: Daiwa monster mesh rod

    I have a t-curve 400 that I use with a saltiga expedition.
I quite like the t-curve and are pretty well priced.
The monster mesh rods do seem very though and I think a slightly better action.

    Re: Daiwa monster mesh rod

Thanks for the tip on the monster mesh as it sounds like just what I am after. I have a Torsa20 to go on it and was interested to hear it casts , what weight , 200gms + ?

200 + no problems....it wont cast like a 7-8 ft rod but it does cast

$300 is a bit dear but I think still worth it

    Re: Daiwa monster mesh rod

I brought one over a T-Curve, just seemed a better rod, and like others have said a better action. Haven't had the chance to use it yet, but hopefully after Christmas. Don't think you would be disappointed with it.

    Re: Daiwa monster mesh rod

The Diawa rep rang back while I was talking to my local tackle guy and the rrp. was 280-350.

have seen them on line for 279 mine had 259 and i paid 240

    GPB
They do seem to have a better feel I have a jigwrex, t-curve and the monster mesh and the daiwa feels more like the jigwrex than it does the t-curve.

Fafnir, what is better in the action?
Sorry GPB feel like a rude bugger for not getting back to your question sooner. Only just clicked back on this thread.

The action on the Monster Mesh seems faster to me. More sensative tip, yet still loads of power in the butt. Probably not an issue so much for jigging, but I intend to use it for the occassional bit of bottom bashing as well, so the tip sensativity is important to me. Constantly amazes me how they build so much power into such light, fine tipped rods.

I say seemingly because in fairness, I did not have a reel on either rod when I made my selection, and therefore no line running through the guides. Simply had the guy in the shop pulling down on the tip as I lifted with the butt, and I realise that having the line running through the guides and loading the rod up in that fashion could make a difference. It also 'felt' lighter (not sure if it physically is), but I realise that statement is even less objective given that different rods feel better balanced depending on which reel they are married to.

I also looked at the jigwrex which seemed like a much better rod again, but I would not have enough use for it to justify the higher price.

Thumbs up Re: Daiwa monster mesh rod

Thanks for the replies guys for straight honest answers . I have also been using T-Curve and Samurai Jigging rods for bottom fishing over the last couple of years, much easier on the back .
