    Flying Saucers at Kurwongbah

Well, not exactly, but the last couple came close

Welcome to my first Freshwater report

Armed with my vast knowledge of the UK course fishing scene, I decided to do my bit for the community and launch a full-scale assault on Tilapia GobbicusBroodicus.

Armed with two rods, one ledger and one float, rigged with size 6 and worm and maggot respectively, I merrily set about ridding the dam of the evil adversary.

2hrs later, I was on my way home, knackered, fishless, and light 14 hooks lost to 17 turtles. They ranged from saucers to dustbin lids, all but 3 being gut hooked and hardly any of 'em registering a bite other than a slight tremble at the rod tip.

To add insult to injury, (resulting in the reason for me pissing off home in disgust) the last turtle was the dustbinlidder which struck just as I was about to tuck into my yummy prawn sangars. On gently releasing and coaxing the dustbin lid back into the water, with a reassuring pat to it's shell, and an assurance that it was welcome to bugger up my fishing any day, I re-cast and sat down to enjoy the rest of my lunch only to see it disappearing into the ether, lodged firmly in the beaks of two bloody crows! The buggers had also somehow managed to knock over my one and only can of coke!

Ah well! Look out North Pine................here I come.............I bet the yellers are shaking in their little piscatorial boots

Hey Kev, those turtles sure don't put up much of a fight hey? You'll encounter quite a lot at North Pine as well I'm afraid. We see heaps of the cheeky little buggers peeking at us at us as we're tossing lures about.
Good on ya for having a go at the Tilapia.

They are all on hibernation until Australia day. Waiting for the Lions comp. Come to think on it all I caught last Australia day was turtles but it kept the grandkids amused.
    Cheers

I thought you had those Tilapia sorted out already, particularly after the monster you pulled at the photo shoot. Hang in there mate.
