    Lake Gregory Firing

Spent Friday with my ol man up near Bundaberg for his Birthday and I had a new shimano rig - stella reel and T-curve rod to try out - so went across to teh local dam (Isis Balancing Storage - Lake Gregory) - things were slow around teh usual weed bed 'bombie' haunts but changing to surface lures on dark in the sticks produced the goods - can't beat the sheer adrenalin of surface lure strikes - on rapala skitter pops my favourite all round surface lure!!

Thanks for sharing. Beautiful little spot Lake Gregory. Love the shot of the 'spotter' dog, looks like he's right in on the action.

    Cheers,
    Steve.

The 'spotter dog' Bungy is last in a long line (5 generations) of mad keen fisher dogs - the mod on the nose of the punt was put there so that Bungy's Great, Great, Grandfather "Joe' - could 'captain' while cruising along by standing on the very leading margin of the punt - he still went Rs Up on many occasions (including into croc rich Gulf waters) when we did a quick turn or hit a snag or wave.

All of them have jumped to attention as soon as they hear a reel drag going off - some have even been good at landing fish (whether you wanted them to or not) Ol Joe would even land barras - spines and all - until one day he went down to intercept a tiring fish my dad had hooked and about 50lb of barra stood on its tail - and sent him shooting up the bank to get away from the 'monster from the deep' - cracked us up!

    Hi Jim,
I had a Pitbull called Pierre Bigalo, he used to come fishing with me to. I stoped takeing him as he didn't understand the catch and release method.
Nice fish, very gold, is that because of where they live?
    Mitch.
