Moogerah land based this morning

Hey everyone,

Went out for a flick this morning with a couple of mates, Got to the dam at about 5 and fished through to about 8. Managed 7 tiny bass all under 20cms caught on jackalls and sp's just off the bank around the wall. Lots of small fish around but still had fun, i always prefer to fish off the bank even if the fish are small but i thought i would at least get a 35!! Next time i will have to take the canoe out to get amongst the bigger ones that are schooled up. There doesnt seem to be many decent fish around the bank unfortunately.

Yea it is still at 3% unfortunately. I was there at the start of october, and since then the water seems to have risen about a foot. Still a nice spot to fish though, and still plenty of room to fish

How are going mate have resently moved to harrisville and was thinking of going for a fish up there just wanted to know what type of sp you use for bass and what weight head thanks ben

Hey mate, out where the bass are schooled and im casting to them i use 1/8th oz jigheads as it isnt majorly deep. And for around the edges and land based i use 1/16 oz jigheads as it is quite shallow (often the bass are in less then 4ft of water) My favorite soft plastic that i use at moogerah are the ecogear grass minnows in the M size however they all seem to pull around the same amount of catches... i also like the powerbait 3inch bass minnows and i have caught them on flickbaits too

Great report mate. Thats awsome that you got a few land based as i dont hear to many land based reports other than North Pine, well done.
