Good report Roo. Congrats to both Roydsy and yourself on a couple of cracker fish.
driving to the bay......the bay is a great place to fish, its also a good place to learn a few tricks and techniques before putting them to use offshore plus the bay has no bar to cross and as we are in a small boat so it has wider options for us. lastly....the missus gets seasick, so its a good day out and she can fish with some confidence of not getting crook.......although that has happened on the bay too!
we lost a jighead each. one to the reef and one to a fish.
cheers Roo
Good report Roo. Congrats to both Roydsy and yourself on a couple of cracker fish.
Fair enough mate,
it does get pretty lumpy out there, I used to fish it in my 3.5 quinnie explorer and boy did i get some funny looks. Didn't get out there too often though, had to wait for the perfect days.
How was the current? Roaring?
Cheers,
Mick
umm, you crazy mick
fair enough the little boat would be fine on one of those magic glass days where what little swell is there is nice and orderly and thats kind of why we head up to the bay too, the perfect days rarely coincide with when we can go
We were doing about 1.5knt across the ground as the breeze was still about but when i put the electric down to counter that we could drop straight down with about 1 knot drift in close, and about 2 out at further on nine mile.
cheers Roo
mmmmmmm gotta get one of those leccys,
Cheers mate

Brian,
The little certate packs a big punch. I'm really happy with it. nice and light size to flick lures in the estuary yet a solid feel that will pull the wrinkles out of 20lb braid all day. We bought 2 of them for an OS trip in Jan/Feb but I'm gonna give them a workout @ Monduran on Jan 1, 2 & 3, so long as the fish come out to play
Cheers Roo.
Must be a hard life Roo, fishing the solomans and Monduran... bloody hell mate, some of have to work. hehe
Not enough time in the day, to many spots to fish!
