Great report, Chief. Well done!
Well the beyond was pretty dam quiet, had a flick at the beacons leading out from the river and went for a run into the bay but couldn't find any speedsters. Came back to the last tripod beacons from the river mouth and dropped the electric down and quietly position myself when a bloody great jack hammered the surface with hardies flying left ,right and centre. Couldn't believe my eyes as he i could see him racing around around the legs of the beacon about 10 feet down. Flicked a plastic into the legs of the beacon and wham. 5 seconds of entertainment on 8 kg . He was a good fish Missed that oppertunity so back to the closer beacons and landed a nice cod from the sticks. He had me buried for a momment but a little bit of help from the electric and he was out and head diving for another of his lares. Then fished the outside walls of the river, water was very clear and i could see a few bream cruising the rocks. Threw hardbodies and plastics, had a heap of follows but only a couple of hits resulting in 1 nice bream and 2 stolen jig heads. Great way to fish though and very enjoyable Sorry about the pic ,fishing by myself and the picture quality says it all
Great report, Chief. Well done!
Good report and pity no mack actions for you! how big was Mr. Cod?
Leccy gave you free hassle without anchoring near beacons...
I was out St helen & Green islands this monring and just gave Mud a break...
The reason I was cleaning up fish scrap out of deep freezer into crab pots and had to fish near them to kill my time...Picked lousy one sandie not happy...
But finished with 41cm squire...
Thanks for that Charlie, G/day Silent, run into a couple of blokes at the ramp in a very tricked up little glass boat and they had just returned from where you were fishing and they had a very quiet morning. They had fished the same yesterday for 30 squire but only 2 for todays effort. The electric is Gold, probably the reason old mate jack didn't even know i was there
great mate i was out at peel today weather couldnt have bin betta for us over there flat as and there where a few boils of mac tuna but nuting to special
regards jason
Thats a nice cod mate there great chewing. It was good to meet you at the ramp today like your self we couldn't track get any macks in the bay or around the beacons (from the port to the curtain) surely its not long now before the bay fills up with pelagics.
Cheers Chris
Nice to catch up at the ramp. I scored a Cod about the same size but a bit further out. As Chris said the pelagics are very scarce at the moment
