just want a re-spray of my dual cab ute.its a 2000 mazda bravo 4wd
doesnt have to be anything special as its only a ute..just wanna give the old girl a freshen up.
its has no rust,no dents,no scratch's etc..just needs a freshen up thats all.
if you have any mates in the industry or can do it your self please let me know
if it has no dents, no scratches & no rust, maybe your local car detailer or panel beater can achieve a good result with a cut & polish. a hell of a lot cheaper than a respray & keeps it original...
or buy some cutting compound, hire a buff & do it yourself...can be a bit tricky, you can burn the paint if too zealous, but possible.
i am a painte and there are reasons why paint can fade in a month after detailing. i also work in a mazda dealership and have heard of bravo's with bad paint but mainly it is flaking not fading. there is also a limit to the amount of times a car can be buffed and it it keeps fading as alot of whites and reds do then it can be ecomomical to clear over the existing paint if it can be bought up to reasonable condition.
you could but it would be better to let them decide, if you came to me and said what would you do with this id tell you to buff it and if it comes back bring it back for a respray. even though there is no dints to fix it would still be a bit pricey for a top quality job.
has the front end been resprayed?
hard to tell from the pic, but it looks like a thick edge on the front of the bonnet and guards. if thats the case, a poor quality clear has been used, and it breaking down. it looks like it would buff up ok, but its always gunna go back, a quality wax will help with longevity.
im with you on this one lippa.looks like it not the orginal paint.i would give it a buff with good quality cutting compound than if it keeps comeing back give it a couple of coats of clear.looks like your car sees a lot of sun light wich doesent help with the fadded look.but still if its done propley it souldent look like that especally a 2000 model.
hi cobia, when you polished it last did you get color of the paint on the cloth? if you did clear coat is buggered, you will need to rub with wet 1500 sandpaper, and clearcoat ,i would suggest a crash shop or local bloke in paper,if your keen you can do yourself, but check your local newspaper first for a qoute.
