    Is this rod worth fixing??

    Hi rod gurus
i have an old ugly stick that i acquired, its showing its age but is a nice little overhead rod. I was wanting an opinion on if it was a good quality rod that would be worth getting the bindings redone. I am unsure on its vintage but would love to know more, please tell me what you guys reckon
    Cheers

IMO - yes. Your rod is from 1996 and has the metallic under binding - the rod should have a gimbal butt and genuine Fuji guides.

Should match well with a TLD 25

    Gidday DS

I have a similar Ugly Stick, bought it when I was 16, quite a while ago, good rod, run a TLD 25 on it, suspect it's a bit heavier than yours.

How many runners has it got? mine has 8 including the tip, a bloke at work restores rods ( keen fisho ), could get a price from him, guarantee will be better price than any tackle shop

    Cheers

    yo Bill
    how goes it?
the ugly has 6 runners, i have put one of my 25's on it a few times but i need another reel for it so i am thinking tld20 is a better match and will broaden my spectrum of setups . sure ask the guy from work about it, does he do nice work?

    Hey Brett

He put new runners on one of my Dad's rod's, ( 9' bream ) I was happy enough with it.

How far do you want to go with it? runners, flash binding? re-varnish maybe? let me know, I'll see what he comes up with.

Boy's and toys hey, can't have to many, missus thinks I'm nuts

Mate, picked your rod up today and it's a heap of garbage.
Not worth the effort of cutting off the old bindings
I'll give ya $10 for it
Failing that I'm busy. I'll have it ready in about 2011. It'll have to be field tested before I'll be happy

Na, just kidding matey. She'll come up nnnnniiiiicccccccceeeeeeee

You are a game man giving your rod to Finga.I hope you specified exactly what colours you want the bindings to be.Might end up looking like a Ken Done painting.Apart from the colours the job will be A1.

    Gees rumours spread fast.
And what are you insinuating Dazza??

Fugles (that's what I've knick named it whilst she's here in dry dock) the ugly stick is going back to original and will (hopefully) be operational again late this week-end.

Are you coming down the the Southern Bay thingo??
I'll be good to catch up again and you might win a prize or seven

    Hey Scott

It's obvious Death Ship hasn't seen the pics of the infamous PIZZA WRAP.
I must say it was a work of fine art.

Mate will be good to catch up at the M&G..

    Cheers Dazza
