    new tent pegs

Saw these featured on Creek to Coast.

Bought some and last weekend we tried them out.
We screwed them into soft sand and couldn't pull them out.

No hammers etc needed-- just screw them in and screw them out.
Will probably not go back to metal pegs now.

Made in Caloundra and available at good sporting stores.
    See pick below

Hey Ronnie, they look great. I take it they are specifically for sand??

    Hi Derek.
Been awhile since I heard from you. Been hiding out Down south???

Check the website at www.bluescrew.com.au or search on Creek to coast stories and they will come up about page 4.

    I think they're pretty good.

Yes, Ronnie when you showed us at bribie the other day, I thought they look the goods.

I have always used the old 'D' form or Reo bar, bent to suit. These are great in all ground surfaces. Trouble is of course, they get rusty and are bloody heavy.

Might catch up again in Dec......

    Re: new tent pegs

I have just fired off an email asking for a price and cost of postage because I did not know that they were already available at some stores. The idea seems great and initial reports are encouraging.

I would like to get a pair (at least) of the larger types but cannot understand why a price was not mentioned on their website.

Perhaps Bluescrews are just starting up or there might be some other good reason why price is not mentioned but it is a glaring fault with their advertising.

Whatever the price I will probably end up paying it because the screws seem ideal for many purposes.

Bluescrew have replied - cost is about $12 for packet of two large and $15 packet of four small and are available from BCF and Anaconda. Seems like very good value to me.

They are great for holding boats as well if u just pop up on a sandbank to pump yabbies and dont wanna get the anchor out. They really are strong and the dude on creek to coast put the peg in the ground then put a rope over a tree and it held his weight (95kg)

    Hi All

Sounds like these guys could be on to something. I bought two large packs and two small packs from BCF Lawnton. The guys asked me to send in some pictures of the camp all set up using the bluescrews which I will do next time we go camping.
I tried them in more solid ground the other day and they are abit harder to screw in but with the same result-- you can't budge them.

When you try them can you guys let me know what you think.

    And Phil--- whats in DECEMBER????

I am going to buy a set for my christmas trip to fraser. Which size do you think is needed to hold up a tarp (at central station) of about 4 x 6meters ?

Sound great. Think ill wait till they have withstood the test of time. Im very confident my solid steel pegs wont let me down every time we go through a storm. I just wonder whether they are resistant to prolonged sun and weather.

    Hi

In real soft sand perhaps go large for corners and use small in other areas.
Read the instructions with them and they will show the correct way to use them-- unlike conventional pegs?????

Let us know how the verdict. !!!!!!!!!!

And just for you Phil-- couldn't see for lookin but put the specks on and maybe see you again in December. --- Do they have Tea and Coffee????

I bought a pack of the small ones to try. They are better than a normal peg for sure, but I dont think they will cut it for the big tarp. Going to buy some of the larger ones for the corners as suggested.
