Hey Archer - great read and photos. I have to ask the question - you obviously live on the nth east coast of NSW???
Don't want to know where you landed the cod but more so interested that it is definitely an East Coast???
Again great Goodoo mate.
Hey mate yeh im in Northern NSW and the fish was caught on the eastern side of the range. It most def an Eastern.

Nice fish & report, on the length to weight chart for murray cod 70cm-9.6kg hope this helps
Beautifull fish mate, well done. Was this fish a stocked fish or from a stream that hasn't been stocked and possibly part of a remnant population ? Have heard a few stories of some E.F Cod caught from a tributary of the Richmond before stocking commenced....
Cheers
Thanks mate,
Seems like that 5yr ban a decade ago has hopefully helped the population growth. Similar ban placed in Qld on the Mary River Cod which again, appears to be helping the stocks. The lack of rain is hurting though as these fish very much depend on floods etc for their migration which usually coincides with their breeding. Hopefully, we will have a draught breaking season! Keep us posted on any future cod catches.
Tight Lines Archer.
