Exclamation Att. AFLP Booth workers in Cairns

    Evening all,

It's time to put your name where it counts with less than 10 days to the election.

After speaking with Chris (Big_Puff_Daddy) earlier today, it would seem that in Cairns we don't have any organisation as to what people are prepared to volunteer at what booth or what times people are prepared to spend handing out how to vote cards.

In order to effectively have efficient coverage can people who are prepared to donate their time on the 24th to hand out how to vote cards please PM me their contact details so we can start to co-ordinate our resources for the day?

I point out that this is for Cairns based people only!
I am also trying to organise a venue for Kevin to speak at when he is up here next week; I am confident that I can get a venue on the Northern Beaches for nothing but I need to get an idea of where everyone is in order to try and centralise the meeting venue accordingly.

Attached to this post, you will find a map from the AEC listing all the polling booths in Leichhardt electorate.
Can you please contact me either on my mobile in my signature or by PM with the following information:
    • Your contact phone number (mobile is ok).
    • Your preferred Polling Booth to assist at based on the attached image.
    • How much time that you can afford to donate handing out how to vote cards.
Make no mistake guys, we have only 8 days to get everything organised so I need your details as soon as possible so as I can allocate the resources to ensure a good spread of booth workers over the electorate.

If you know of anyone not on AusFish who is volunteering in Cairns, please ask them to contact me as well.

If you are not going to turn up on the day please don't volunteer; it's important that we get a good spread and it will be a busy day without people not turning up stretching the number of people that we will have. Last election, we captured 6% - 7% of the vote at booths that were manned so the more people we can get the better the chance we have of getting an AFLP senator elected!

That being said, it should be a good day and a great opportunity to meet all your fellow AusFishers. I am hopeful that we can get a minimum of 18 people helping out so that we can get a totals of 2 people at each booth for at least some of the day.

Oh, and don't forget the free fishing gear that is up for grabs either for those helping out!!
    Regards,

    Andrew.

Sent an email last Friday to: boothworker@aflp.org.au re handing out HTV cards here in Bundy in the lead up to Saturday week at the Early Voting Centres, but unfortunately haven't had a response at all and it's now Wednesday, and the booths opened on Monday...so have to assume the email didn't get through or the guys are to busy to respond...oh well, I tried

Re: Att. AFLP Booth workers in Cairns

    Evening Guys,

After gathering all the contacts that I have at my disposal, it looks like we will have about 3 or 4 people to help out in the Cairns area (and one of those is a 15 year old) on Election day which is a bit disappointing considering all the effort that has been made to get pamphlets and booth worker forms out.

If any one knows anybody who would be willing to help out for only 1 or 2 hours on election day please get in touch with me either by PM or mobile.

I called Robbie Erskine (Cairns Tackle World) today and he is even finding volunteers to man the polling booths very thin on the ground.

Surely there's a few more people in Cairns who could help out?
    Regards,

    Andrew.
