how to rig soft plastics?

hi, just want to know how to rig sp's for outside fishing targeting snapper,bream,
we fish scatted reef in 17-19 mtrs of water and not real keen on winding sp's in all the time i use (penn line) pro -power 10x 7kg strength with 7ft (ugly sticks) medium flex and try to fish very light.

Dave for the deeper water, I've used up to 1/2oz jigheads but it all depends on the wind and current. A heavier leader wouldn't hurt either. But the same as estuary fishing, tie your jighead to the leader, (I use a uni knot), then the leader to the main line with either an albright or a double uni knot.
Another way to fish plastics is have one hanging off either the top or bottom of your patternoster rig.
