Overhead rods
Just picked up my overhead rod, custom made and i have one question.
When the rod is bend the line touches the the rod, just near the tip. Is this normal or just poorly made rod.

Re: Overhead rods
not really normal if i had a choice between two rods of equal price and quality and one had the line touching the blank i'd choose the other, what rod is it? its when the line crosses over the blank that you should get really concerned

Re: Overhead rods
As Finga said .... load the rod up through the guides to a little less than half the recommended line wt ie: 6kg ( say 2.5kg ... of drag) & keep the rod angle at around 45-50 degrees ........ & see what happens ( have someone take some pics even ..... & post it in the rod builders section) ..... Nagg
