    BRIBIE ISLAND<<<mission point m&g,,, march 2008

caught up with col fisher this week and had a chat,,,,, col asked to get some interest happening with a overnight m&g at mission for march 2008

col heads up here normally around this time of year when the crabs/fish are on the move,, and makes an overnight stay of it

cost is around $4 a head for the camping permit,,,, and the access track is 4b only,,,(again permit needed),,, but thinking about this,,, if you have a family car,,, i'll arrange safe parking and do a shuttle to the campsite on the day,,, we'll work something out,,,,,,, or come by boat,, the campsite is right on the water nearly

NEED HANDS to be raised tho',, so we can get this happening,,, and who knows,, may make it an annual event if it turns out

mission point is on the calm side of bribie,,, approx 13-15's from white patch ,,, easy access to coochin creek and a mirade of spots to fish n explore

can't give a definite date as yet,,, but if your keen,,, let us know,,, i'll keep col advised and marry everything up from there

after checking out the tides during march we are thinking the weekend of the 8th and 9th will be the go.Low tides up there will be early morn and late arvo and the new moon is the 8th so they are a good size for a crab or fish.
we hope this will suit most of you.easter is from the 21st to the 24th so it is a couple of weeks before that.
the camp sites can be booked on line at the EPA website.
I have booked campsite no 1 from the 7th to the 10th.so ill be getting there at lunch on friday and staying prolly until monday.
its adviseable to book your site for sunday night as well if you plan on leaving late sunday arvo as if someone else books your site for sunday night you have to be packed up by 11am,
The sites are numbered 1 2 3 4 and so on starting at the northern end heading south. The best ancorage is up the northern end so we are best to start up there.
If anyone wants to bring bigger boats the anchorage is great and their will be plenty of tinnies around so you can park them off the beach and get a lift to shore.
So i would say if you would like to come get in and book some camp sites starting with no2 so we will all be in the same area.also make sure you fill in the password section so you can alter the number of people camping with you if you need to do so at a later date'

    cheers scotty

Scotty......that sounds good to me.....I hope you booked me and the lads in

As Scotty said anyone keen should get in and book now so we secure the northern end between us.

We'll have to get a few things organised I guess.

Choppa give us a yell when you have time.

    Cheers Col
